International Academic Competitions is pleased to announce the 2022 International Academic Bowl Online Global League Tournament. The competition is open to all students in Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

Academic Bowl – In order to compete in the Academic Bowl, you must be 19 years or younger at the time of the competition. You must also be enrolled in a primary or secondary school at the time of your regional tournament (or have graduated within the past two months, and not yet have started university studies).

For the 2021-2022 academic year, in order to compete in the Junior Varsity Division of the Academic Bowl, all team members must have been born in September 2005 or more recently. If you wish to compete in the Middle School division, all team members must have been born in September 2007 or more recently. There is no younger age limit – a brilliant and well-behaved 8 year-old is welcome to compete. Also, younger students can play on a Varsity or Junior Varsity team, but ALL players on a younger team must fulfill that division’s age requirements. All players on the same team must currently attend the SAME SCHOOL.

Tournament Format:
All Academic Bowl will be guaranteed to play in at least 5 preliminary round matches. The exact tournament format will be determined after the registration deadline.

Game Format:
The rules for the Online History Bee and Bowl will remain largely the same as our in-person competition rules. There will be minor changes to the bonuses and lightning rounds. Please see rules sheet for more details.

History Bowl:
200 USD per team of 3 or 4 players
150 USD per team of 2 players
100 USD per team of 1 player

Top three teams and players in each division will receive plaques. All students will receive a digital Certificate of Participation.

Students who cancel their registration for free prior to the registration deadline. Students dropping after the registration deadline owe 100% of their registration fees.
